When I received the letter confirming my admission as a member to The Mother Church, I said out loud, “I’m in!” When I heard myself saying that, I sat down for a while to ponder what “I’m in” really meant to me, since that was such an unexpected response.
Here are some of the conclusions I came to: I’m dwelling in the atmosphere of Love; I’m in a loving environment at my branch church, and am included and supported by The Mother Church. And I’m in touch with others who love learning about God. I definitely have a sense of being in something bigger.
As a seeker of truth, I’ve looked into quite a few religions. But until I joined The Mother Church, I’d always stayed on the outer edges of any religious organization, giving myself an easy out in case any particular religion felt like it wasn’t the right fit for me. Yet, after taking Christian Science class instruction in August 2010, with the loving guidance of my Christian Science teacher and other practitioners, I found that I no longer felt like staying “out.” That desire had been replaced by the idea of being “in.”
