A thank you to a Sunday School teacher

From the December 2014 issue of The Christian Science Journal

So what makes a great Sunday School teacher?

I can remember many inspiring things about one of my Sunday School teachers. He was someone who practiced what he preached. He was inspired by the Christian Science Bible Lesson, the Bible, and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings. He used what he learned in his daily life, and encouraged his Sunday School class to do the same. He was 100 percent sincere and honest. If he wasn’t sure of an answer to one of our questions, he’d have more to share on the subject the next week.

I still remember years ago when I heard that this Sunday School teacher’s wife was getting a new car. I was desperate for transportation of my own and offered to buy his wife’s old car. Evidently it was in need of quite a few repairs, so he said that they were more than happy to give it to me for no charge. I was ecstatic!
