Distance no obstacle to healing

From the December 2014 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Several years ago, I had an experience that taught me the power of Christian Science treatment, regardless of distance. My husband and I took our children to a remote part of Guatemala for a family retreat at Lake Atitlán. (It took a two-mile hike down a mountain from our house to the lake shore, where we would then wait to be ferried to the nearest city.)

For part of the trip I stayed at the house alone, while my family traveled in northern Guatemala. I was able to hike and go horseback riding through the mountainous forests.

One night I came down with a high fever. There might have been other flu-like symptoms too, but I don’t remember now. For hours I lay asleep, unable to wake up.
