Spiritual Short

My daily walk and spiritual clarity

From the March 2016 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When a loved one passed away, I felt a sense of separation and aloneness. Endeavoring to pray and overcome the grief, I recalled an earlier experience I’d had during one of my daily walks that took me past several blocks of art galleries.

One day a particular window display caught my eye. The artist had created a unique and original mobile sculpture that I felt reflected something of the attributes of God. The sculpture’s form, beauty, color, and grace suggested to me the qualities of divine Soul.

However, I realized that sometimes I would see and admire this artwork on my daily walk, and some days I missed it entirely because I had either been looking down at the ground or forgetting to look for it altogether. I never liked missing it!
