The sovereign God

Everywhere and every hour
The Lord upholds all life.
The presence of eternal Mind
Is here to still all strife.

When we come in, when we go out,
We feel the peace of heaven.
His Word is present, active still,
Our thought with joy to leaven.

Above the dream of evil stand
The laws of God unbroken.
And still we see the covenant,
The rainbow as its token.

Love’s tenderness, compassion, grace
Unfold on earth Her plan
And bless thereby forevermore
The family of man.
