Undaunted sentinel

Mortal sense contradicts Spirit,
tempts human thought to believe
the absence of light it imagines,
dark fears that betray and deceive.

Yet strong faith, our undaunted sentinel,
stands guard against the night,
obliterates baseless illusions,
rejoices in Christ, Truth, the light.
