Spiritual light—and better weather

From the January 2019 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For months, I had looked forward to time away from my busy work schedule. But when I was able to fit in a one-week vacation, the first four days were full of fog and drizzling rain.

While I was making an effort to stave off discouragement and appreciate the beauty of our location, the weather weighed down on my husband and me. We had visited this particular spot for a number of years, but this was the first time we had brought company, and we were concerned that everyone would feel let down.

We had exhausted our list of things to do indoors, and I could feel my joy slipping away. Then I saw that the weather was predicted to remain the same through the rest of our stay.
