All science requires universally repeatable proof. When a new scientific discovery is made, the application and study of it by a scientific community naturally results in the building up of a body of evidence. As Albert Einstein put it, science involves “those who are thoroughly imbued with the aspiration toward truth and understanding” (Ideas and Opinions, p. 46). Furthermore, science relies on intelligent intuition and persistent faith, often accompanied by patient effort, which result in progressive scientific demonstration.
Is there a science that proves the existence of God? Well-known atheist and evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins wrote, “God’s existence or non-existence is a scientific fact about the universe, discoverable in principle if not in practice” (The God Delusion, p. 73). Mary Baker Eddy did discover the Science by which we prove God’s existence, a system of divine metaphysics that she called Christian Science because it was the basis of Christ Jesus’ teachings, and she presented it to the world in her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures in 1875.
Christian Science reinstated the healing method Christ Jesus fully demonstrated and taught his disciples. This was a scientific discovery, and not an invention of man; and it was made universally available for all to learn and practice. Eddy not only founded a new religion on this Christian Science, but, at divine direction, she also established a scientific community to prove this eternal Science to the world.
