I am always encouraged when I read in the Gospels of all the good that Jesus did for so many individuals in his service to God. Every single person that Jesus met was in some way or another cured, fed, blessed, redeemed, and/or enlightened.
It certainly had to be more than personal ability that enabled Jesus to help and heal, to cleanse and transform like that. He touched on what was behind it all when he stated, “The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works” (John 14:10).
If, as Jesus explains, it is the truth that makes us free (see John 8:31, 32), then it’s the truth that does the healing work and is the power behind not only Jesus’ prayers, but also effective, healing prayers in all eras. For Truth to be legitimate, it must be timeless.
