The first time it occurred to me that I might be able to write an article for one of the Christian Science periodicals was back in the 1960s. Over the next few weeks I wrote three articles and submitted them, one right after another. They were all rejected.
After I had “nursed my wounds,” prayed, and thought things over for a while, I realized that I had skipped the most important steps in writing an article or a testimony for the Christian Science periodicals: 1) Ask God for help; 2) listen carefully for His answers; and 3) trust God’s answers and follow His guidance.
Writing an article or testimony for the Christian Science periodicals begins with an earnest desire to share the blessings of Christian Science with others. God supports us in that desire and is always with us, ready to help and guide us. In our prayers, we can ask Him questions, listen trustingly for His answers, and make notes about ideas that come to us from Him.
