Often, when struggling with a difficult situation, realizing any sense of dominion, let alone a state of dwelling in the kingdom of God, can seem distant or even impossible. Yet for every situation, Christian Science offers our guiding Pastor, the Bible together with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, for support, instruction, inspiration, and freedom. Through study and receptivity, we can find an understanding that elevates thought to spiritual dominion and practical demonstration.
My daily study and contemplation of Christian Science blesses me in continually building a deeper foundation for proactive and preventative prayer. The inspirations and logical reasoning found in the teachings of Christian Science deepen and expand my understanding of and faith in God, divine Truth, arming me for more effective responses when challenges appear.
Science and Health states: “Spiritual teaching must always be by symbols” (p. 575). At one point, when studying the first chapter of Genesis in its metaphorical and symbolic significance, I found myself gaining a higher sense of life as a spiritual creation or reflection consisting of infinite, compound ideas, dwelling within the oneness and allness of divine Life, God.
