My mom knew her children needed guidance to help us make the right choices. I can still hear her saying, “Never do anything you wouldn’t want others to know about.”
That advice was helpful while I was growing up. Yet, we all need more than a personal perspective of right and wrong to keep us on track. We need a consistently reliable guide for our conscience to make sure our choices are unselfish—good for the benefit of everyone. My study of the Holy Bible and Mary Baker Eddy’s writings has led me to Christ as that reliable guide.
Christ—the expression of eternal, divine Spirit, seen so fully in Jesus—shows us the universally good nature of our divine Father-Mother, infinite Love, and the good nature of our (and everyone’s) true God-created identity as Love’s pure, sinless creation. God’s will for us is to love one another as He loves us. And God gives us the spiritual discernment to know what is right—what will benefit everyone—and the courage to follow what is right for the sake of our and everyone’s redemption and healing.
