The kingdom of heaven, as Christ Jesus taught it, has one key feature—love. There is only universal, omnipresent, continuous, supreme Love. And nothing proves that Love is universal and absolute as forgiveness does, because forgiveness is the direct effect of Love, God. It is Love in action.
