SUPPORTING OUR HERALDS IN THEIR MISSION In response to a widespread interest in the various editions of The Herald of Christian Science, the Editors are taking this opportunity to explain something of the purpose of the Heralds and the nature of their contents. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave the name to each of our periodicals, lists them and indicates their mission in an item entitled "Something in a Name" in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany.

From the Treasurer of The Mother Church Per Capita Tax , as provided in the Church Manual, Article VIII, Section 13 , is due annually from "every member of The Mother Church," and "shall be forwarded each year to the Church Treasurer. " Payments may be sent during the year at any time between January I and December 31.

NOTICE TO CORRESPONDENTS Officers of branch churches and individuals who have occasion to correspond with The Christian Science Board of Directors, with the Clerk and the Treasurer of The Mother Church, and with the heads of departments of The Mother Church Offices are requested always to place their addresses on their letters and to write their signatures plainly. Women are requested to use the title "Miss" or "Mrs.

REPORT ON THE COLLEGE ORGANIZATION SEPTEMBER MEETING On September 8 and 9, 1955, hundreds of university students gathered in the Original Mother Church in Boston, Massachusetts, for the first meeting to be held in the interest of Christian Science College Organizations. College students from England, Scotland, France, Switzerland, Australia, Canada, and the United States, representing one hundred and forty-one different universities, attended the two-day session which was arranged by the Department of Branches and Practitioners with the approval of The Christian Science Board of Directors.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT The Mother Church Fund for Armed Services Activities and Postwar Emergencies The Fund opened in January, 1942, known as "The Mother Church Wartime Fund," is now designated "The Mother Church Fund for Armed Services Activities and Postwar Emergencies. " As heretofore, this Fund will be drawn upon to meet the needs of Christian Scientists in the armed services; to aid those willing to rely wholly on Christian Science for healing in veterans' hospitals; to conduct Christian Science services, give treatments, and help young Christian Scientists to become adjusted to their military experience.
