Normal class, 1979 Mary Baker Eddy wisely and lovingly provided for the continuity of her teaching by the establishment of a Board of Education. Every third year, applications are cordially invited from qualified Christian Science practitioners who love and actively practice the healing ministry and are ready to assume the responsibility of becoming authorized teachers of Christian Science.

In setting forth the nature of scientific Christian demonstration, Mary Baker Eddy has explained with precision the increased resistance that Truth often stirs up before error finally yields to its authority. This phenomenon she calls chemicalization, and in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures she writes of it very simply, "What I term chemicalization is the upheaval produced when immortal Truth is destroying erroneous mortal belief.

Fund for helping branches in small towns Many branches of The Mother Church in smaller towns have received financial assistance from the Mangels Fund since the fund was first announced to the Field in 1973. Grants from the Mangels Fund have aided in the purchase or building of edifices, in alterations or additions to present facilities including Sunday Schools and Reading Rooms, and in refurbishment projects.
