DISCIPLINE IN OUR SUNDAY SCHOOLS

When one considers the numerous Christian Science Sunday Schools throughout the world and the growth which has been manifested in this activity, one sometimes forgets that when Mary Baker Eddy established the Sunday School there was only one pupil. MAN IS NOT CORPOREAL

It is still the predominant belief of mankind that man is material. Indeed, the sources of information on which mortals have relied—the physical senses—have never ceased to declare this to be the fact.

FREEDOM FROM INFIRMITY

In its teaching of the allness of God, Spirit, Christian Science establishes the fact that the material concept of existence, based on the testimony of the erring physical senses, is false and illusive and its effect of sickness, sin, and mortality erroneous, hence eradicable. This teaching of the Christ, Truth, the impersonal Saviour, comes to the human consciousness for the redemption of mankind.

BUILDING WITH THE FATHER

Through obedience to divine law and order we learn to manifest those qualities that emanate from God, the Father, and to express health, assurance, initiative, and true independence in the building of strength of character. "You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man's initiative and independence; you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

THERE IS ALWAYS ENOUGH

No composer would hesitate to write a symphony because he feared a deficiency of musical notes would render ineffective his great work. He knows that notes are symbols of ideas, and ideas are infinite.

DEMOCRATIC CHURCH GOVERNMENT

In "Twelve Years with Mary Baker Eddy" an incident is related that is of special interest to members of branch Churches of Christ, Scientist. We are told by the author, Irving C.

EVER-PRESENT LIGHT

The writer, on one of her travels across the North American continent, felt grateful for the many comforts one has nowadays, including spacious windows, air-conditioning, and fluorescent lights, which allow one to read even when the train passes through tunnels. She recalled how terrified she had been as a child traveling in Europe when the train was suddenly plunged into darkness as it entered a tunnel.

Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, states in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" ( p. 242 ), "Self-love is more opaque than a solid body.
