In the book of Revelation, John, most beloved of the disciples, set forth in majestic symbolism the spiritual nature of God's creation. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, interprets this symbolism in basic teachings of Christian Science.
In an arresting statement made in her "Miscellaneous Writings" Mary Baker Eddy tells us ( p. 334 ), "You must find error to be nothing: then, and only then, do you handle it in Science.
The record of creation as depicted in the first chapter of Genesis sets forth the fact that God created the universe and man. Although we are told here that man is made in God's image and likeness and that creation, including man, is "very good," yet the chapter does not define God other than as creator.

Universally present in the realm of spiritual existence and available to govern the affairs of men is God, the operative divine Principle enforcing the laws of good. It is for that reason that at certain critical times in history opportune events have transpired which tended to preserve an era which would otherwise have gone into oblivion, as have many civilizations in the past.
" I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" ( John 14:6 ). When Christ Jesus spoke these words the material world lashed back at him in defiance of the truth which was able to destroy its claim to reality.
Christ Jesus declared ( Luke 18: 27 ), "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. " On the cross, that prelude to his greatest victory over evil, his last words were ( Luke 23: 46 ), "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.
