IN human affairs covenants or contracts arise from the need for an established, definite procedure in the attaining to a particular result, and the agreement continues in force until the end in view has been reached. In order to insure results and the favorable outcome of the undertaking in question, the duties, rights, and tasks of each individual concerned are exactly designated and defined; and the participants by affixing their signatures acknowledge their acceptance of the terms of the covenant and the obligations devolving upon them.

WE hear much these days about getting a position, or holding a position, and many seem to be either striving for a good material position, or rejoicing because they have one, or fearing that they may lose it. The world has been in the habit of thinking that position is entirely material, and that there is no other kind of position to be sought for.

THE efficacy of gratitude in solving the problem of supply was demonstrated in the following experience. A young student of Christian Science had become a member of a Christian Science branch church and, convinced that the organization in its every function was sacredly dedicated to healing, formed the habit of listening attentively to every word spoken from the desk in order to miss none of the message and thus to participate, each Sunday and Wednesday, in what was conceived of as a divine service to mankind of consecrated thought and desire.
