EXPRESSION AND SUPPRESSION

To-day there is much talk about self-expression. Children are being taught that thoughts or desires must be expressed.

THE SERVANT OF THE PROPHET

In the progressive revelation of God, the prophets of the Old Testament bore an important part. In the short history of two of the outstanding prophets, Elijah and Elisha, we are told that they were ministered to by their students or servants.

LIGHTWARD

A Lad had lost his way and was wandering through the night in a strange wilderness country of rocks and trees and stubbornly opposing underbrush. In the darkness the rocks and trees assumed imaginary shapes of terrifying design.

FINDING SUBSTANCE IN SPIRIT

In days of financial unrest and fluctuating currency values, men are afraid lest they lose that which they deem necessary to their wellbeing. Material wealth is liable to chance and change.

THE "STRANGER OF GALILEE"

As a student of Christian Science listened to the Sunday service in a Christian Science church, the following words from the solo greatly impressed her: "Accept him to-day as your Saviour, this Stranger of Galilee. " This "Stranger of Galilee," Christ Jesus, won the title of Saviour because he showed the way out of materiality and mapped out the path that leads to everlasting life.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE TREATMENT

What is Christian Science treatment? Is it not, in part, an acknowledgment and realization of the ever present operation of the law of God, whereby Love's promises to His children are fulfilled? A Christian Science treatment is simple and effective if we but rest in the assurance that God's law is ever in operation, harmoniously governing all that is real. Sometimes the evidence of the material senses appears to be very persistent.

"THE BLESSING OF THE LORD"

" The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. " This saying, found in the tenth chapter of Proverbs, brings to the reader a comforting sense of security, an assurance of perpetual riches continually manifested to all, and "no sorrow with it.

"GODWARD GRAVITATION"

It is related that a young eagle was once captured and raised with a brood of chickens. The bird acquired the habits of its fellows, ate their food, shared their shelter, and lived among them as a barnyard fowl would do.

BENEVOLENCE

What a love laden word is "benevolence"; and how vividly descriptive of the activities of the Christian Science movement! Indeed, a religion which teaches unfailing love through every test of experience would hardly be consistent if it did not lay great store on compassion and helpfulness as primary elements of practice. Love is God, infinite Life.
