MANY years ago there lived a saintly man, even the beloved disciple, John, whose principal theme was love. And because he greatly loved, opaqueness was not permitted to becloud his consciousness.

THE problem of lack is as old as human history. When Christ Jesus said, "Ye have the poor always with you," was he not recognizing a prevalent and accepted condition of mortal experience? And his words are equally true when their meaning is enlarged to include the sick, the sinful, the sorrowing, the dying.

"CHURCH," as "the structure of Truth and Love" ( Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 583 ), has existed throughout eternity as a complete idea in divine Mind.

THE healing ministry of Christian Science is literally doing wonders for men and women all over the world in helping them to begin to see things as they really are. Mary Baker Eddy made the revolutionary discovery that, inasmuch as God is Spirit, His universe must be like Him in quality, that is, spiritual; hence it must be a universe made up of spiritual ideas.

WHEN Moses was faced with the task of leading the children of Israel out of Egypt into the promised land, the task of leading discouraged, unhappy, sinful mortal thought into obedience to God through spiritual understanding,—out of material sense into spiritual sense,—much prayer, consecration of thought, selflessness, reaching out for divine guidance, and humble listening to Truth must have taken place in his consciousness, in order to discover through divine inspiration the best ways and means of accomplishing this great work. How to impart to them a certain sense of God's mercy and loving-kindness; how to correct and discipline and yet encourage and enhearten them; how to sow seeds of trust and faith in their thoughts; how to bring to light their true self; in short, how to teach them the truth which would meet their needs—such must have given Moses much prayerful thought.

RISING above the most destructive forms of hatred directed against him, Jesus, on the cross, said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. " That he attained the spiritual height where he could wipe out of his thought the greatest of sins committed against him entitles to careful study his method of reaching that spiritual altitude.

THE human race, the world over, appreciates and sets a high value upon conduct which is really kind and loving. When we see it in others we recognize it with joy; we admire and love it; we feel its beneficence.

SABBATH observance, like many other things to-day, is taking on new meaning. It is being learned that something more than mere church attendance and staying away from business is needed for true service.

JOY is a quality of ever present Love. Like a song bird it sings its song even when the earth clouds gather low and threatening, and the false evidence of mortal mind claims to hold dominion.
