Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

The Wrath Of Man Shall Praise Thee

I had not known of the new metaphysical medical practice till I read of it in the interesting (?) letters of Prof. L.

Editors "Christian Science" Magazine:— Why is it we hear so much about the Christian Scientists being mostly women? It might with equal truth be affirmed that all the religious bodies of to-day are composed of "mostly women," and the inmates of the various prisons and penal institutions are "mostly men. " If the statement proves anything it is this,— Not she with trait'rous kiss her Saviour stung; Not she denied him with unholy tongue: She, while apostles shrank, could danger brave; Last at his cross, and earliest at his grave.

STRIVE TO UNDERSTAND

Whatever failures in proof of the Principle involved, faltering ones at the blackboard of life may make, the basis is still there, unalterable and available. When a boy at the board with his problems comes across one that seems beyond him, and whose operations are unknown to him, he does not, because of that fact, begin to declare that it cannot be solved.

THE TRIUMPH OF SCIENCE

We shall never understand the science of being while we believe that Soul sins, or is in the body; and when we do understand that science we shall be a law of Life to our bodies, even as the higher law of Soul that prevails over sense and gives harmony and immortality to man. The so-called laws of matter can never make man healthy, harmonious, or immortal: hence the importance of understanding the spiritual law of being, that brings out the perfection and immortality of thoughts that we name things.

The Sunday edition of the Boston Herald, June 14, contained a slight note of reproof to an American correspondent of the London Times, for misrepresenting the Christian Science movement in Boston. He is criticised for reporting "after the hall is crowded to suffocation (to hear the founder of the Science preach) people stand outside in the hope of catching a chance word.

The churches sing very vigorously about the day when all the saints shall gather in one congregation, but they would have the time deferred till everybody turns each church's way. They beat the broad and plain principles of the Bible into spears and swords to fight doctrinal combats and dispute over creeds.

FAITH WITHOUT WORKS

Under the heading "Current Comments," topic, "Healing the Sick," the Watchman of June 4, says: "When any one would have us exercise faith without works, we reply that it would be tempting God. " I should think so, indeed.

ANIMAL MAGNETISM

We may understand by the term "mesmerism" (malicious or innocent) the power apparent of animal mind, or magnetism . I am deeply interested in the accounts furnished by the C.
