Dissolving Doubt

Christian Science healing may seem mysterious to people who have never experienced it. Those investigating Christian Science for the first time often ask, "Why make a point of depending on God for healing, when there are such excellent doctors and medical facilities available? How can thought change a serious condition? Could a tumor be healed by Christian Science treatment?" Such questions were put to me by a friend who was honestly inquiring about the healing method of Christian Science.

Are You Always Ready to Heal?

What makes one ready to work for God, ready to heal? To be ready to heal is to live so consciously in the awareness of God's presence that one is prepared, at any moment of need, to silently or audibly proclaim His healing power. Many things may contribute to this readiness.

Incredible Good Elements Are Now Surfacing

Are we distressed by turbulence and conflict in the world today? Are we troubled by the forceful demands of various groups for the recognition of equal rights? Are we able to look behind the upheaval and rightly assess what is going on? Mortals must find refuge in Truth in order to escape the error of these latter days.

Not long ago the London Times published a challenging article by John Sparrow, Warden of Kings College, Oxford, in which he opposed the current trend toward uniformity, the apparent apathy and lack of incentive, the prevalent desire to "opt out," and stressed the world's need for men of character and genius who would endeavor to succeed and progress. The Times (London), January 23, 1971 One of the two photographs accompanying the article was of innumerable young people basking motionless in the sun; the other was of the same scene, but the baskers were iguanas (lizards).

One of Mary Baker Eddy's many positive statements in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures on the deathlessness of life is: "Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof.
