Overcoming Apathy in Sunday School

Many dedicated workers in branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, are finding the answer to a question concerning the growth and prosperity of our Cause: What must a teacher in a Christian Science Sunday School do to overcome the evidence of idleness and apathy in his class? The answer comes in a positive declaration of the truth that mental laziness is not a quality of the all-acting, infinite Mind; therefore it cannot be expressed by man, the idea of Mind. The Sunday School teacher realizes that his mental climate and motive for teaching must express spiritual manhood with such clarity that only the power of good will be manifested in the class.

Speak Up So All May Hear

Ignoring Evil Is Not Christian Science

Achieving the Most Good

There is in the human mind an attitude that perhaps does most to obstruct the deeper study a Christian Scientist needs to devote to his religion if he is to develop more of its healing potential for himself and society. It is the attitude that one can know a truth even though that truth is not animating his conduct.

Expressing Completeness

"I never think of you as incomplete. To me, you are a complete idea.

"Check your oil?"

While on a motor trip, the writer stopped for gas at a filling station in a rural area. The attendant asked the familiar question, "Shall I check your oil?" When a negative answer was given, he thoughtfully replied, "A fellow should never be in such a hurry that he doesn't check his oil.

Beyond the Frontier

Knowledge is growing and expanding today at such a rate that many of us feel thrust toward a new frontier before we have adjusted our sights to the one we came upon yesterday. As rapidly as new facts and inventive processes are discovered, they are put into technical production and become part of our everyday lives.
