Some of us have an unhappy story, including perhaps an unhappy childhood or frustrated adulthood—a story of repeated failures, unsatisfied longings, unfulfilled hopes, disillusionment, disappointment. Have you been thinking that this latter tale is your story, cherishing it perhaps, telling it to others, looking for sympathy? If so, now is the time to turn from mortal mind and its distorted history and turn to the divine Mind, God, for man's true record.
In Isaiah we read, "Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me."Isa. 45:11; According to Christian Science, the Lord is divine Mind, the one causative Principle of every real effect, or creation. Mind, God, is the eternal I am, without beginning or end. Man, as the idea of Mind, coexists with Mind and is likewise without beginning or end.
Man, as Truth reveals him, has never been conceived materially, never been born into matter under material laws, for in reality, there are no laws of matter. The perfect Principle, Mind, is Spirit, and man, who is the image and likeness of Spirit, is subject only to spiritual law.
