AT times everyone finds himself confronted with evil and realizes that he must overcome it. Christian Science provides a healing approach in every situation, great or small, universal or individual.

It is not unusual for children to fix up a place to which they can go and be by themselves. It may be an improvised shack or a house up in a tree.

Suffering can be overcome by destroying the suppositional ego that declares the necessity for sin. This ego is the Adam-dream, and it includes the sinning dreamer called mortal man.

Nonexistence is a strong term. It is a radical term.

Where shall we build it? How shall it be designed? Whom shall we engage as architect and builder? How large shall it be? How shall we finance it? These are a few of the questions with which a church membership may begin to consider a new church edifice. But there is one question that provides the key to the success of the entire project.

Less than a century ago Mrs. Eddy made a spiritual discovery that is proving to be of inestimable value to the world.

In order to help our times, we should be able to interpret the world's happenings. And we should understand the goal of real progress as well as the steps which have brought humanity to its present state of development.

" Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise" ( Matt. 1:18 ).

Since all that is real is included in what God knows, an understanding of what God knows and does not know is essential to one who seeks to heal on the basis of Christ Jesus' rule ( John 8:32 ), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. " Christian Science teaches that God, Spirit, is All and that there is therefore nothing outside of Spirit for the divine Mind to know.

The life and works of Christ Jesus show the advantage of possessing spirituality. His freedom from materialism, from belief in the substance, desirability, and power of matter, gave him the mental purity that bestows dominion over discords and false laws—cruel laws not created by Spirit.
