Alone?

It has been said,  We enter the Kingdom of Heaven, one by one—alone. Not true.

Christmas song

Deep within the heart   this song is born. It may not first be known as words,    but rather felt as resonance,   response to a holy stirring.

Snug harbor . . . or no ruffled feathers

Waves higher than seen before .

Stay present

If life seems to push and pull, rush me fast away  Interrupting and distracting, planning, fretting, timing, tracking Then whom do I obey? What’s my stand this day? God is straight before me. God is all about me.

Forward

The Christ is calling:    urging you on    shining through clouds of conventionality    setting your sail         toward the boundless reality that is your home. Your heart is complying:    rising in the strength of Spirit*    yielding to the power of Love    accepting the course of Science        that leads to eternal harmony.

No forgetting

The nursing home said, “We look for points of light. ” “That’s nice,”  I thought, wrestling with numbness in my thinking, while I saw only frail minds with bodies sinking.

Purpose

I think above the maddening crash of waves against the shore      Must be a voice so calm and clear, roll on for evermore. As life it seems must follow path and cannot go astray,      So tides must rise and change their mood, their master to obey.

A dear friend

Beautifully serene, always undisturbed amid any “jarring testimony of the material senses,”* the Christian Science nurse with transparent purity, with “clear sense and calm trust”* administering imparting tenderly caring, is radiantly demonstrating God’s healing love.   — Johe West * Science and Health, p.

Communion

Even though we are little more than the “two or three gathered together”  we have found here today in this small Society, a surprising clearing in the woods, where beams of God’s natural light pouring down, show us how holiness is something unnameably simple. Something happens.
