Behold the Christ— Before the door of consciousness Stands Truth, an ever-present light, Revealing all the blessedness Of Love, as man's eternal right. Receive the Christ— Forgetting shadows too long viewed, Accept the true, be now a son Reflecting all the Father's good: So prove that God and man are one.
A voice cried in the wilderness of doubt: "Awake, awake, my child! Prepare the way, The highway of your God. " I heard the shout, And lifted drowsy eyelids to the day That shone in growing splendor on my sight, Revealing loveliness I never knew, For, wrapped within my brooding dreams of night, My way was weary and my friends were few.
In pastures green, by waters still, Faith ever mounts on upward wing, And gives us strength and vision clear To know and love our Lord and King, Who daily leads us on our way, If we will listen for His voice, And safely guides us on our path If we but follow and rejoice. So if the tempest surges high, Or world-wide wars deep problems bring, We shall not fear, for faith has grown To understanding of our King.
Elijah , man of God, By ravens fed! Surprising that his need was met By Cherith's brook, serenely clear? Ah, no! It was but recompense For trust that overcometh fear. He walked by faith, God's high behest.
God holds you safe Within His sure embrace; It matters not the circumstance— Earth's distance, time, or place. So we entrust you to His care, Knowing He is with you— Everywhere.
Shelter safely in Love's keeping, When the storms of sense are sweeping Like a torrent from the ocean. On the rock of Truth unmoving, Take thy stand, and by thy proving Test its steadfastness and strength.
What, dear God, of these allegiant hosts of men Stumbling and fighting through the dark? O God, is this Thy plan for them? What then Of kindness, or the singing lark That lifts on freedom's wings its tiny frame And soars and soars in joyous being? What then of inspiration? Oh, let Thy name Be known, Thou God of hosts, in perfect freeing!
Under the shadow of His wings, Bending compassionate above, Stand we in grateful quietude, Safe in the shelter of Love. Under the shadow of His wings, Guarding in mercy all mankind, Stand we in calm and confidence, Safe in the shelter of Mind.
" Thy will be done," the Master prayed, And so I pray today — "Thy will be done" in home and work, On sea, or broad highway, In peaceful camp, in battle grim, Wherever men may pray, "Thy will be done. " And all must know God's will is good, alway!
How strong is faith in those who wait on Mind! And Truth discerned will mark with joy the hour When they who wait on God shall know His power, And true effectiveness and gladness find. How strong is faith confiding in the Word! We know man's perfect selfhood will endure, Safeguarded, permanent, in Love secure; "Lo, I am with you alway," saith the Lord.
