"Fear not: for they that be with us
Are more than they that be with them."
These words convey no animus
Of military stratagem;
They speak conviction that the thought
Of those besieged by plan or chance
Held angel concepts which were fraught
With strength for sure deliverance.
Elisha spoke them to assure
His servant, who was sore afraid,
That God's ideas, strong and pure,
Are saving angels when obeyed.
Such words were spoken yet again
By Hezekiah with intent
To comfort his beleaguered men
And give them true encouragement.
A signal victory is won
When angel hosts are entertained,
For hate and fear are then outdone,
And everlasting peace is gained.
Elisha won his battle thus,
And thus was saved Jerusalem.
"Fear not: for they that be with us
Are more than they that be with them."
