IF I SHALL TURN

If I shall turn myself to look again, Upward, to Thee, O Father, I shall find All strength, and love, and courage, and one Mind, Intelligence beyond the mortal ken. If I should turn myself from running after The trivial merriment that would confuse, And on true happiness more deeply muse, I should find fairer joy than idle laughter.

TRUST

I do not know the way, dear God, That Thou wouldst have me go; But this I know— Thy way is best. And so, rebelling not, put my hand in Thine and, trustfully, There let it rest; Nor fear the dark, nor storm, for, lo! Thou walkest here with me, And I am blest.

PROTECTION

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. " Deuteronomy 33:27 Within Thy sheltering arms, O Love most dear, I find sweet surcease from all pain and fear; And when to sense my heart may weary be, I know that I can find repose in Thee.

MY PRAYER

I pray the Lord that I may see, With humble heart, His way for me; It matters not when He may call, Whether the task be great or small. Where'er Love guides, there will I go— To do His will.

FOR UNDERSTANDING

Oh , give us understanding, Lord, That we may heal as Jesus healed, That we may gather from Thy Word The precious truths therein revealed. For we have faith—full well we know By Thee our need will be supplied, And be the answer swift or slow, We ask and we are satisfied.

UNFAILING REFUGE

Be not afraid! The Lord thy God is near; He will deliver thee, thou need'st not fear. Trust in His love when storms of sense assail, He will thy refuge be; Love doth not fail.

"THE ONE 'ALTOGETHER LOVELY'"*

Dear God, I love Thee! How sweet it is to know Thy mighty love enfoldeth me Wherever I may go! Dear God, I thank Thee That Thou art All-in-all; The power of Thy protecting love Includes the sparrow's fall. Dear, God, Thou guidest The nations everywhere; Thy "great white throne" rules all mankind With just and tender care.

"THE LORD IS THERE"

Think not to journey, desolate And sad, beyond His care; There is no place that you may know, But lo, the Lord is there. No task that comes with risen dawn, Too dull or heavy is; You do not face it all alone— The mastery is His.

"THE THREE GREAT VERITIES OF SPIRIT"*

Our God is good, omnipotent—supreme— Then good is all, and there is nought beside; This light of Truth is revelation's beam, Revealing God's creation glorified. Our God is Spirit, omnipresent Love; His children cannot fear, or be alone, Or lose Life's inspiration from above, Or be unworthy to be called His own.

SECURITY

So close am I, dear Lord, to Thee, Thy tender love enfoldeth me. The radiance of my hours, that know Angelic thoughts which ever flow From God to man, proves constantly Thy kingdom's peace established is Within my heart.
