GOD'S LAW OF LIBERTY

From the January 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There is not one in all the world today
But has the freedom, in his heart, to pray;
There is not one but can the truth declare,
That God is All, that God is everywhere;
That God is good, nor cruel bondage made.
There is not one but can be unafraid;
Though there seems bond of sickness, sin, or woe,
There is not one but can steadfastly know
God's law of liberty remains supreme
To break all bonds, claimed by the mortal dream.

Be not dismayed, nor bow to error's yoke,
Remember him who every bondage broke,
Unsealed the sepulcher, escaped death's snare,
Despite the tomb's watch set to keep him there.

There is not one but freely can this hour
Rejoice that 'gainst man's freedom there's no power.
Nor death, nor hell, can hold in evil throe;
Christ makes us free and each can prove it so.
