One morning I was feeling discouraged. Nothing I had been praying about seemed to be budging, and it felt as if so much work needed to be done! On top of that, I was exhausted and just wanted to stay home.

The Bible shows how faith brings healing. Hebrews 11:3–11 specifically refers to the faith of individuals whose experiences are told in the Old Testament.

In a world seeking safety, health, peace, and prosperity, spiritual education is essential. It gives us an understanding of God, divine Principle.

For many years I found myself confused about something Christ Jesus said in the Bible that seemed to be teaching his followers to agree with their enemies. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus instructs his listeners, “Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him” ( Matthew 5:25 ).

I answered a phone call at 5:30 in the morning. A friend who was having a difficulty asked me to pray with her, which I did immediately.

When we find ourselves overwhelmed with regret over something we’ve done, either intentionally or unwittingly, what can we do? I’ve learned through my study of Christian Science that a flawed human history, including past mistakes, can be put off, because healing and transformation through Christ bring newness and wholeness. No matter how difficult our situation may look, we can find redemption and solutions by turning to God.

What a wonderful day it must have been! That bright-shining original Easter morning when Christ Jesus emerging from the tomb, triumphant over every limiting belief in mortality, put an exclamation point of proof to everything he had taught his followers. The same power that kept Jesus’ thought uplifted above the cross and lifted him free of the tomb is still among us.

Me, a Reading Room Librarian? I didn’t think I was the one for the job.   When my local Church of Christ, Scientist, moved our Reading Room downtown, we had a librarian who just loved the Reading Room and often spoke of her conversations with visitors.

One day I bumped into a friend who is also a Christian Scientist. When she asked what I had been up to recently, I told her that I was the First Reader of my local branch Church of Christ, Scientist.

When I think about the fundamental lessons taught in Christian Science Sunday Schools, particularly the Ten Commandments, Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, and the Lord’s Prayer with its spiritual interpretation as given in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I realize that the Christian Science Sunday School is one of the dearest spots on earth. This Sunday School is for pupils up to the age of twenty, and I attended until I was twenty years old.
