One of the most remarkable instances of God's spiritual provision is to be found in the incident of the feeding of the five thousand as related in the Gospels. This wonderful proof of divine abundance, coming as it did through Jesus the Christ, forms an object lesson for those who would more fully understand God's affluence.
For Christian Scientists the coming of Christmas always presents an opportunity for a reappraisal and increased appreciation of its meaning. As we lift thought above the merely material sense of a human celebration we bow, figuratively, in deep gratitude and reverence, realizing its all-important spiritual significance in our own lives.
What a joy and inspiration it is to realize that we are given dominion by God over every material condition and circumstance. The very first thing we learn concerning man, as recorded in the first chapter of Genesis, is that he is given dominion: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion.
Because Christian Science is the law of God, it needs to be understood and practiced as law. Furthermore, divine law needs to be understood in its fundamental meaning as the will of God manifested in an ordered universe, if the healing power of Christian Science is to be demonstrated.
Consciousness is an important word in the vocabulary of Christian Science. It will be observed that Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, uses that word many times in her writings.
To the musician, music is a language which expresses things human and divine. In its highest expression music speaks of great universal spiritual forces—of power and breadth and depth of thought; of harmony, reverence, purity, tenderness, joy, serenity, and peace.
We cannot achieve complete success in the healing work of Christian Science without the gift of heavenly inspiration. As the children of God we possess this gift, but it is one we must continuously claim and cultivate.

Throughout the pages of the Bible we read of the absolute necessity for righteousness. Those who seek salvation from sin, fear, disease, and death must turn from evil and seek, cherish, and practice righteousness.
A definition of "heal" which fully accords with the intent of Christian Science practice is this: "To restore to original purity or integrity. " The original purity or integrity which Christian Science is restoring to view is the spiritual perfection of God's creation, a perfection seemingly concealed by the mortal senses and their imperfect pictures of man and the universe.
