PRESENCE

HAVING BUILT MY ARK

I am lodged in it: have taken up residence— permanently, you might say, for the arrangement is not an emergency one: no panic rush (as if to sandbagged bunker or trench) when the siren sounds and everybody else is caught, unprepared, in the terrible rain. This ark is my home.

AND THE HEALING CAME

HERE I STAND

Nothing moves me From the parapets of Truth. The storm may rage, The sea may roar, The wind bluster; Each blast my greater Faith to muster.

IN PLACE OF HURRY

The Psalmist said the lines had fallen to him in pleasant places. It is indeed pleasant to walk obediently with Spirit To feel the gentle government of Soul's guidance; The only decisions being to turn to Him And listen.

OUTREACH

The lives we touch each day will be immeasurably blest If patience, love, and Christlike understanding are expressed. In ever-widening circles these qualities release An impetus providing paths to universal peace.

THE SHEPHERD BOY

He would not take the borrowed sword Or put on armor not yet won; Instead, he trusted well-tried truths To prove that he was God's own son. These woven fast into one whole Sufficed to make his coat of mail— A garment of omnipotence.

LIFE SONG

What words shall I use to sing Your praise, highest, holiest One to be adored? Can human song hope to celebrate all the wonders of creative Principle? Will my cadence however joyful and free take the true measure of Soul's splendor? Can a finite phrase encompass infinite Love? What melody can hint Spirit's harmony?
