Testimonies of Healing
In 2016 my husband and I traveled to New Zealand for a series of work-related events and completed a four-city tour. On the closing night of the work events, a celebratory dinner was planned for all the participants and their family and friends.
“ God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” ( II Timothy 1:7 ). This beautiful biblical passage became a living reality in my experience.
One afternoon in the middle of our son’s fourth-grade year in elementary school, I got a call from the nurse’s office to pick him up. He was feeling nauseous and his head hurt.
For several days I would suffer from acute stomach pain whenever I had something to eat. It didn’t matter what I’d eaten.
Years ago when I was making the transition between my work with a local dance company and a new career, I had a healing of an inflamed and swollen eye. Although I was no longer officially working for the company, they would sometimes ask me to come to rehearsals and give notes about what needed improvement.
About a year ago , I noticed that an area in my abdomen was occasionally painful. I started praying to strengthen my conviction that only the qualities of God can develop within me.
I woke up one morning and thought, “Today’s the day we move home!” But I wasn’t happy like I should have been. I was sad.
One Sunday morning , I thought it would be fun to go for a run before church. As I was jogging down our steps, I was distracted by something in the street.
One morning in December 2021, I was busy getting a project finished, when I found myself on the floor and realized I had fainted. I was able to get to my cellphone and call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me.
Several years ago , after conducting the Sunday service as substitute First Reader at my branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I tripped going down the steps from the Readers’ platform, slamming my head and side against a wall and landing hard on the floor. Immediately, I mentally said, “No!” remembering that accidents are unknown to God and His children.
