Testimonies of Healing
This testimony is submitted with great gratitude to Christ Jesus for what he taught us about the omnipotence of our all-wise, all-good God, and to Mary Baker Eddy for showing us that the healing Jesus did can be done today. Even devoted students of Christian Science have occasion to dig deeper in their understanding of its teachings about God, our relation to God, and the practice of Christian healing. I recently experienced the need to go well beyond my normal study discipline, to unreservedly reach out and declare my unimpaired oneness with my creator, and to express my joy and freedom as His, Her, loved child.
I found out about Christian Science when I sang solos and played the organ for a few different branches of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. At first, I wasn’t interested in Christian Science; I just loved music (see “ From unbelief to feeling embraced by God’s love ,” Christian Science Sentinel, May 13, 2019).
A few years ago a very painful, hard bump began to develop at a joint on one of my fingers, disfiguring the finger and bending it to the side. At first, thoughts flooded in suggesting the inevitability of aging, such as, “Well, you’re at an age when things like this show up, and you should expect this to happen.
