TO OUR SUBSCRIBERS AND FRIENDS

From the February 1884 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This number ends the first years growth of the Journal of Christian Science. It is conceded that the measure of confidence imposed in our enterprise is evidence of its just worth: we are assured by our many friends, and by the constant receipt of testimonials of cures coming through the medium of our columns that the influence of the Journal's teachings shall not stop upon its anniversary, but that the seed of its sowing is blossoming in the hearts and lives of its patrons, bringing to light heretofore hidden blessings—making practical the Christian religion inasmuch as it adapts the metaphysics of Jesus Christ's teachings to the vital need of the sick and the sinner. The department of healing, under the head of Questions and Answers, has met with a grateful approval by many distant invalids, who have availed themselves of this method of communication with the genius, and large practical experience, in healing, of the Editor.

The "Bible Lessons" introduced in No. 4, will be continued through the coming year, shedding light, through their metaphysical translation, on the otherwise obscure passages.

We are pleased to state that the present Editor intends to secure experienced assistance in the various departments; which encourages us to hope that the Journal may soon support the growing demand for Christian Science, by a monthly issue.
