HEALING ACUTE DISEASE

From the February 1884 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There exists a belief among a large class of people, that Christian Science is useful only in cases of nervous diseases, or where there is only an imaginary cause. The following experience, given by a student who finished a course at the Metaphysical College about six months ago, of a case she was called to treat, may be of interest in proof of the ability of Christian Science to meet emergencies where there is an acute attack. She writes: "A friend of mine had a very severe bilious attack from indigestion. I never saw any one in much more agony. I had retired for the night, when his wife called me to his assistance, saying he had concluded to try Christian Science. I treated him silently, leaning on the Almighty Arm, and think it was about half an hour, when he said, 'The hard substance in my stomach has all gone, and the chills and cramps went with it.' I left him well."
