Dear Journal:—I would like to add my testimony as to what understanding will do in case of accident. I fell with a lighted lamp in my hand the entire length of a flight of stairs, landing in a heap at the foot in a narrow hall, against which I struck with such force that my first thought was, "I have broken my back." Christian Science was the ever-present Balm of Gilead, for I instantly rose unharmed, and, although I suffered not a particle of pain, the bruised flesh showed over the greater part of the body how severe would have been the injury from the basis of belief. The knee, which was nearly dislocated, responded quickly to the treatment I gave myself. Christian Science is the "stranger within our gates" asking admittance.
