Dear Journal:—I read with interest your columns, and as I have heretofore been a great sufferer, I wish to show to the public what Christian Science has done for me. I was an invalid for over four years, and was a very great sufferer all the time, not being for one moment without the most intense pain. My troubles were pronounced by the best physicians I could possibly employ, to be very serious. I was so weak I could not dress myself alone, nor could I very often lift my own cup of coffee. The two last years of my affliction I had nervous chills, and so bad were they that I was almost paralyzed from my waist down to my feet.
I employed the best physicians: all the very best allopathic and homoeopathic; also, two specialists abroad, all of which pronounced my case incurable. So, then, I looked for God to send some method of Divine healing.
Last Spring I heard of a Christian Scientist in Montrose, and I determined to be brought to see her. So on the 9th of May, 1886, I was brought to this town, to Mrs. M. A. Bagley, and through her instrumentality I have been healed of my affliction. I had not been able to get out of my room without being carried out, and was very seldom able to do that; am now able to do my house-work, and walk one mile and back the same day. In three weeks from the time I put myself under treatment I could walk out into the yard. I improved very rapidly, and to-day I rejoice in the understanding of Christian Science. I praise God for it, for I have been lifted out "of darkness into light."
