We took passage by steamship from Savannah to New York. When we went, the ocean was very smooth, but when we returned, the captain said it was the roughest it had been in two years. We had a severe storm which lasted twelve hours; yet, severe as it seemed to be, I had no fear. I felt that God was Omnipresence, Omnipotence, and Omniscience—All in All, and none beside Him. I never was so calm in my life, and feel as if I can never thank Him enough for His kind protection.— Palatka, Fla.
