"Only a drop in the bucket...

From the June 1891 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Only a drop in the bucket,
But every drop will tell;
The bucket soon would be empty
Without the drop in the well.

Only a poor little penny;
It was all I had to give;
But as pennies make the dollars,
It may help some cause to live.

God loveth the cheerful giver,
Though the gift be poor and small:
What does He think of his children
When they never give at all?"

And suppose the world don't please you,
Nor the way some people do,
Do you think the whole creation
Will be altered just for you?
And is n't it, my boy or girl,
The wisest, bravest plan,
Whatever comes, or does n't come,
To do the best you can?
