Testimonies of Healing

I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings Christian Science...

From the June 1903 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings Christian Science has brought to me. Three and one half years ago the light of Truth dawned upon my thought. At the time I was not in need of physical healing, but for some years I had been nourishing a sorrow, almost unawares, and although naturally of a happy disposition, the way often seemed sad and dreary. A dear friend, feeling my need, gave me some Christian Science literature, which I perused with eagerness. Some years before this, a member of my family had tried Christian Science for an alarming sickness, and while I felt some interest at the time, I gave it no serious thought or consideration. It seemed now, however, that the time was ripe, for as soon as I began to read, I felt that I had found the truth. Opportunities for proof came, and my small understanding, when rightfully applied, never failed to give relief. Thus I was encouraged, and I knew these experiences meant growth. Gradually a peace unspeakable seemed to unfold itself to my consciousness, and I began to realize the love and sustenance of an all-powerful God. Trials have since assailed me. which in the old thought would have crushed all hope, but divine Love has led me through them all. This Love is teaching me to overcome fear and its consequences, whether manifested in sin, in disease, or in death; it is teaching me to know the joy and peace of true humility and obedience; above all, it is teaching me a love for God, and for my fellow-beings, which at one time I would have thought it impossible to attain.

Words fail to express my sense of gratitude to our beloved Leader, for the untiring efforts which have enabled her to give to all who will seek, these manifestations of Truth. May our loving obedience always reward these efforts.

I am very grateful, too, for our periodicals and their generous help. Through them I offer this testimonial, since my opportunities for attending the Wednesday evening meetings have been few.
