A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCH EDIFICE: THE RESULT OF DEMONSTRATION

From the June 1903 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The history of a Christian Science Church must necessarily tell of things which, like the Gospel it teaches, are in advance of its surrounding times and conditions. And why? Because the superstructure of the Christian Science Church has its foundation in Mind,—that Mind which is Spirit, Truth.

The foundation, growth, and futurity of a Christian Science Church must be in Mind. Hence, the results and achievements of its teachings must tend toward correctness, symmetry, beauty, harmony, and substantiality.

When we come in touch with Christian Science, we feel its harmony, but do not fully appreciate it until we understand the Science, and then we demonstrate it only to the extent of our obedience and faithfulness.
