LOVE'S POTENCY

From the January 1904 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Except we love we may not live
In atmosphere of pure delight,
For Love alone to us can give
The freer life—the clearer sight.

Through love alone we learn to see
Our brother's needs, and them supply.
For love alone will ever be
'Twixt man and man the strongest tie.

The heart that heals another's pain,
Reflecting Love has stronger grown,
And by-and-by shall reap again
From every deed of kindness sown.
