THE fact that several pensioners have surrendered their pensions because they have been healed by Christian Science of the diseases which had afflicted them has occasioned considerable comment, and at least one newspaper has made it an occasion for sneering at Christian Science. The New Haven (Conn.) Leader very properly rebukes this attitude, and we take pleasure in copying its editorial on the subject, which is as follows:—
"This jeering reference to Christian Science rather strikingly illustrates the extreme to which prejudice will cause some newspaper writers to go in matters of religion.
"Here is a man whose condition of health is such that he cannot honestly accept an 'invalid' pension from the government—and his moral strength is equal to the duty which is obvious.
