WITNESSING TO TRUTH

From the December 1905 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord.—Isaiah.

To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto truth.—Jesus.

THE good does not have to be created; it already exists. It only needs to be seen, acknowledged, witnessed to, loved, and lived. In other words, it needs to be expressed in right desires, thoughts, words, and deeds. The perfect recognition, acknowledgment, affirmation, and expression of good extends to the uncovering, the denial, the rejection, the suppression, the destruction of evil. Whenever the good is expressed in any way, some evil is suppressed; and whenever any sense of evil is expressed, some good is denied and for the time being obscured.
