I have long felt a desire to testify to the great good I have received from Christian Science. In January, 1904, I was taken seriously ill. and for two months I was unable to turn myself in bed, and could speak only with great difficulty. The physician, who was doing his best, called twice a day, but I grew steadily worse. Finally a consultation was held, and the doctors decided there was an internal growth, possibly malignant. I had also other internal complications, and the best hope they could give me was that even if I ever got rid of the growth I should be an invalid all my life.
It was at this time that we found divine Love ready to meet our need. Some friends called to see me, and spoke of Christian Science. I asked for help, and my husband sent for a practitioner, who most lovingly and faithfully worked for me in Christian Science. She told me that God is all Life, Truth, and Love, and this thought brought me so much spiritual help that I gained immediate relief from my sufferings, and my improved condition was at once apparent to all around me. I felt that this truth was just what I was looking for. I know now that there is no real healing except by the power of God. I can truly say that I am rejoicing in perfect health: I am free from all suffering and all the diseases I have mentioned. In fact, I have since been examined by the same doctor, who says that the growth has entirely disappeared. I have not taken medicine of any kind for four years, and if we have any trouble in our home we feel we have God for our ever-present help. The Bible is a new book to me. I now see what Christ Jesus meant when he said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
My heart goes out in gratitude to God, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I am most grateful that I have been guided to the truth.
