Three years ago I had an attack of heart trouble, and two physicians, one of whom was a specialist, stated that it was serious. As I was greatly reduced, relatives hardly expected me to be a well man again. A few months later, however, having heard of Christian Science before, I decided to take treatment. My condition improved gradually, but the error which I had for years been building up, through the assiduous study of medical books, attacked me quite vigorously. My healing took two years, but I now have much better heart action than I ever had before, so that I was able last year to make several mountain tours without any bad after effects. I also had a beautiful demonstration over the dreaded seasickness while on a journey. I was about to surrender to what seemed my inevitable fate, when the thought suddenly came to me, Am I a Christian Scientist, or not? I immediately realized the truth, and the trouble disappeared all at once, and did not assert itself again during the rest of the journey.
My family, too, have experienced the power of the truth which makes free. My wife was healed within three days of weakness and an affection of the heart which used to trouble her a good deal when going upstairs. My little daughter was healed twice of severe colds, and in both instances the fever and every symptom of disease vanished within an hour, so that the quick effect was a great surprise to us.
