It is with great pleasure and the hope of helping others that I give this testimony of healing through Christian Science. Over three years ago my seven-year-old brother was taken with acute lung trouble. The result of this disease was the forming of an abscess in his left side, which necessitated four surgical operations, all of which gave him relief for the time being, but failed to cure. His condition steadily grew worse, in spite of all the efforts of the kindly physicians, and they finally pronounced his case to be tubercular disease, said to be inherited from our mother, who had passed away three years before. Little hope of his recovery was given us, and he was certainly in a sad plight, as at times his suffering was intense.
It was about this time that I married into a family who were Christian Scientists, and through them I was persuaded to try this treatment for my brother. I took him to my home in Los Angeles, and engaged a practitioner to treat him. In three weeks the discharge from his side stopped and the healing began; in two months more there was no trace of the dread disease, except that his left shoulder was somewhat crooked and lower than the other, but this is gradually straightening, and the boy is now as healthy as his twin brother, who has never known a day's sickness in his life.
This healing has certainly been a proof to me and to many of my relatives of the indisputable fact that the understanding of God's law, as explained in Christian Science, removes human suffering completely. I am very thankful to God, and am also grateful to Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful truth which not only makes men free from physical ills, but free from sin.— Santa Ana, Cal.
