I have many times wished to write my experience since I came into Christian Science, and I can no longer refrain from expressing my gratitude for the blessings I have received through this teaching. I hope that these few words will be useful to others, who may be in need as I was, and that they may be led to the one true and living God and His Christ.
I was a great sufferer, from 1901 to 1906, from what was pronounced gall-stone, also a weak heart and an abnormal growth, besides a bowel difficulty with which I had been troubled from childhood; but I have been healed of all these ailments through Christian Science. My healing came about in the following way: Early in 1906 I was very ill and my doctor, who was most kind, had a specialist to see me, but this gentleman said nothing more could be done than what my doctor had already done, and that the only remedy he could advise was an operation, which I was too old to risk, being eighty-two at that time.
A relative then advised me to try Christian Science, and another relative who is a Scientist, and whom I had not seen for a long time, came to see me. I questioned him about Christian Science, and what he told me impressed me very much. I asked for the book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and a few days after he brought me a copy. I read it and it satisfied me that Christian Science is the truth. I read of so many beautiful cases of healing that I said there was no reason why I too could not be cured. I then applied for treatment and I was healed.
